PreambleIt is important to understand that it is not the CAFSC’s responsibility nor desire to regulate all CAFSC athlete’s behaviour, rather it is hoped that this protocol will cause all club members, athletes, parents, and family members to take responsibility for their actions, and recognize the impact those actions have on others, and in particular on the public image we wish to portray as members of CAFSC. ProtocolBehaviour by club members, whether during competitions, or during club practice times, both on the hill and in the lodge, should reflect positively on the individuals involved and on our club as a whole. As our on-site representatives, CAFSC coaches will naturally deal with most behaviour issues which may arise during club activities. It is anticipated that our coaches would receive parental and club support in their efforts to address behaviour problems which arise. It is essential for safety reasons, and to ensure positive club relations that behavioural issues are dealt with by coaching staff in a timely and appropriate manner. Should the coaching staff or alternatively, a parent and/or club member feel that the behaviour involved is too significant in nature, or continuing despite efforts by the coaching staff to address the problem, then the matter is to be brought to the attention of the Director of Training. The Director of Training, the club head coach, and one additional club executive member will examine the matter, and determine what/if any action is necessary to appropriately address the identified problem. This protocol serves as an addition to the existing Code of Ethics. |
