JUMPS 'N BUMPS PROGRAMJumps ‘n Bumps is a non-competitive introduction to freestyle skiing for 6-12 year olds. Our Jumps ‘n Bumps is one of the largest and most active clubs in Canada. We are excited about the number of skiers and level of participation it has brought to freestyle skiing at the local level. There is lots of interest for the sport in this age category. This program is a great feeder program for our competitive program, and prepares many of the athletes for the skills they will use at the higher level. Jumps ‘n Bumps is affiliated with the Central Alberta Freestyle Ski Club. Skiers entering this program must be able to make snowplow turns on easy terrain, and know how to ride the lift unassisted. Each skier will receive a passport booklet with 70 different skills and safety questions to master. Pins or badges will be awarded for completing the different skill levels, culminating with the awarding of their freestyle ‘wings’ for completing the whole passport. Cost: $135.00 includes insurance, membership, instruction, passport books, and pins/badges. Dates: Program operates January to February on Saturdays from 9:30 AM to Noon. A maximum of 80 registrants accepted into the program. Full Day Program: This new program is designed for athletes at the top end of the Jumps ‘n Bumps, that have an interest in moving on to the competitive club in the future, or just have an interest in having additional training time. The cost is $250 per season, runs full days on the same dates as the regular program. This program accepts no more than 10-12 participants per season. Registration for the Jumps ‘n Bumps program is in September each year. For further information call: Julie Downton 885-5678
